Live Q&A Session: Understanding HCA Regulation in Alberta
The College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA) is offering live Q&A sessions designed specifically for Health Care Aides (HCAs). Attending this session will provide you with the opportunity to hear answers to questions about HCA regulation, which comes into force on February 2, 2026.
Our panel will answer questions on topics that include:
- The transition to regulation for HCAs on the Directory,
- Key information and timelines for registration,
- Conduct proceedings and professional expectations,
- Scope of practice and the HCA role, and
- Other common questions raised by HCAs.
If you have questions about regulation, sign up for one of the sessions and hear directly from CLPNA staff.
Spaces in each session are limited; however, additional dates will be added. Please also note that some important regulatory documents are still being finalized. While we will do our best to answer your questions, some details may not be available at the time of your session.
